Cellular Jail

Storeyed prison building, constructed by the British in 1906, a
pilgrimage destination for the freedom fighters. The saga of the
heroic freedom struggle is brought alive in a moving Sound & Light
Show, shown daily inside the jail compound. Also there is a museum,
an art gallery and a photo gallery.
Viper Island
Viper Island stands as a witness to the grim sufferings that the
freedom fighters of our country had to undergo during the British
Rule.
Andaman Water Sports Complex
Adventure and safe Water sports Daily, Safe water 12.30 pm to 8.00
pm., Coral and ship wreck view depending on weather conditions.
Carbyn's Cove Beach
One of the picturesque sea-beaches, it is ideal for sea bathing and
sun basking. The Wave's restaurant, The Peerless Resort nearby and
the Hornbill Nest Guest House at Carbyn's beach provide a
kaleidoscope view of the blue front.
Ross Island
The erstwhile capital of Port Blair during the British regime, is a
tiny island standing as a guard to Port Blair harbour. The island
with historical background and preservable ruins is spread along an
area of 0.6 sq km. Located at the mouth of Port Blair harbor, Ross
Island was the seat of Imperial Administration till the Island fell
into the hands of Japanese in 1942.
Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park
The Mahatma Gandhi marine national park at Wandoor is at a distance
of 29 km from Port Blair covering an area of 281.5 sq km. The marine
park made up of open sea, creeks and 15 small and large islands, is
one of the best found anywhere in the world. Viewing of rare corals
and underwater marine life through glass bottom boats, SCUBA diving
and snorkeling are a lifetime experience for anyone.The former name
of Gandhi Park was Dilthaman tank, which was
once the only source of drinking water to Port Blair.
Cinque Island
The lure of underwater life, unspoiled beaches specially a Sand bar
joining two islands are irresistible.
Chidiya Tapu
Chidiyatapu is the southernmost tip of the South Andaman at a
distance of 25 km from Port Blair. The lush green mangroves, forest
covers and the numerous chirping birds and the Sylvan sand Beaches
and Munda Pahar beaches make it a ideal picnic spot. The forest
guest house situated on top of hillock provides a fabulous view if
isolated islands, submerged corals and the breath taking sunset.
Mount Harriet
Mount Harriet was the summer headquarters of the Chief Commissioner
during the British rein. This place is an ideal for a nice and
fascinating overview of the outer islands and the sea. It is the
highest peak in South Andaman.
One can trek upto Madhuban through a natures trail and can find rare
endemic birds, animals, and butterflies. If you choose to go by road
its 55 km from City. But an alternative route is just 15 km by ferry
boat from Port Blair.
Havelock Island
Havelock Island is part of South Andaman group, to reach the Island
it takes 4-5 hours by a motor boat. Radha Nagar beach is world
famous and is a ideal place for tent camping.
Neil Island
This beautiful island with lush green forest and sandy beaches is
the vegetable bowl of Andamans. One can feel the sincerity
and serenity of village life here. Beautiful beaches at Bharatpur,
Laxmanpur and Sitapur beaches and the natural bridge formation (Howra
bridge) are the attractions. The island is at a distance of 36 km
from Port Blair (sea route only). Ferry from Port Blair to Neil
takes 2 hours.
Anthropological
Museum
This museum displays
the habitual of aboriginals of these islands in miniature and types
of tribals at Andaman. The museum is closed on Mondays.
