KOVALAM - a beach paradise

Kovalam is arguably Kerala’s most famous tourist attraction close to the state capital (16 KM). It is also one of the oldest tourist enclave in India,  known among the tourist circuit as early as 1930s

The crescent-shaped beach has three major beaches in its 17 km coast line. The southern most beach, and the most popular, is light house beach. It offers an amazing sight of Vizhinjam mosque. The northern Samudra is a laidback one and time seems stands still here. The middle, hawah, in the early day, is a beehive of activities with fishermen setting out for sea. With a high rock promontory and a calm bay of blue waters, Kovalam is a beach paradise.

The airport nearest to the Kovalam beach is Thiruvananthapuram International Airport which is at a distance of 14 km from Kovalam beach.

By Train
The Thiruvananthapuram Central Railway Station is the nearest railway station to Kovalam. From here trains are available to all major parts of India.  The Kerala Rajdhani Express connects the city to New Delhi, the capital of India.

By Road
Kovalam is well connected by buses with all tourist destination in Kerala.

Samudra Beach - This beach is fully covered with coconut trees and its quite common place where you will find local fisherman going about with their fishing. You can find a mosque (Kovalam Juma Masjid) also near by.
