Vidhan Soudha - Also known as the State Secretariat was built in 1954 and is the main attraction of this city. It is a marvel of modern architecture and is a fine amalgamation of traditional Dravidian and modern styles.

 

Cubbon Park - The 120-hectare park located near the Vidhan Soudha, has a number of neo-classical styled government buildings.

 

Botanical garden - Haider Ali laid out the garden while Tipu Sultan added plants and trees for other countries. The place has over 1800 species of tropical, sub tropical, medicinal and floral plants

 

ISKCON Temple Complex - It is one of the popular tourist attractions for the Hindu religious tourists. ISKCON stands for International Society for Krishna Consciousness which was founded by Srila Prabhupada in 1966.


Government Museum - Established in 1886, it is one of the oldest museums in the country. It has 18 galleries comprising of Neolithic finds from various civilizations, antique jewellery, textiles, coins, art and miniature paintings among other reserves.


Tipu Sultan's Fort and Palace - The 18th-century Tipu Sultan's Fort and Palace hidden in the busy KR Market is an elegant palace built by Tipu Sultan, with teak pillars and frescoes. Though incomparable to the more famous Tipu Sultan’s palace at Mysore, this is one of the relatively unknown monuments of Bangalore.


Museums - The Government Museum of Bangalore (one of India's oldest museums) and the Visvesvaraya Technological and Industrial Museum are important museums within the city.


Botanical Gardens - The Lal Bagh Botanical Gardens, which holds a number of flower shows is located on the southern fringes of the city.

Ulsoor Lake - The Ulsoor Lake on the northeastern edge of the city is an important picnic spot.


Bannerghatta National Park - Bannerghatta National Park, 21 km from the city, is a must visit.
 

Nrityagram village - Thirty kilometers from Bangalore is the Nrityagram village, housing a classical dance academy.

Nandi Hills - Sixty kilometers from Bangalore is the Nandi Hill Resort, which is also famous for its temples and fort.

 

Shivasamudram Falls - Located at a distance of 90 km the site of the first hydro-electric power station in Asia, set up in the early 20th century. The Gaganachukki and Barachukki waterfalls are best visited post monsoon, when there’s abundant water

 

Art of Living International Center - The Art of Living International Center, founded by H H Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, is located on the  Kanakapura Road, Bangalore, India.


Doda Alada Mara - The Doda Alada Mara, a 400-year-old banyan tree lying 28 km from the city, is a must visit.

Mekedatu - Mekedatu, 98 km south of Bangalore, and Muthyalamaduvu, 40 km from Bangalore (also known as the Pearl Valley), is a important picnic spot.
